Gospel Musician, Carl Clottey has narrated how he gave serious consideration to his career as a gospel musician.
Today (January 10, 2025) on Dominion TV’s platform (Wake Up Africa) he touched on how he gave way/ life to his career as a gospel musician.
On narrating the story of how he embraced his career as a gospel musician, he shared that he was at church right after an audition and while he was at church during the service, he was beseeched to minister by some folks at the church. As he did, he encountered the holy spirit during his ministration, which led him to break down and, in the process, he readily dedicated both his life and craft to God, promising that his voice would not be used for anything besides the purposes of God. Following this, his pastor prayed for him as a means to seal his vows and empower him to honour the vows he made to God on that day.
Carl Clottey recounted how his work for God led him to work with the veteran music producer, Zapp Mallet which gave him insight into songwriting and exposure to other musicians.
Koku Lumor, the host for Wake-Up Africa asked if he wanted to pray an encounter for others out there, his response to this was “If you have not been sent you will get frustrated and stop”.

“It has to be a call” he said.
He further said that his writing of love songs did not have to end after receiving the call from God, because that experience only redirected him unto another path as he simply had to dedicate his love songs to God instead.
Nonetheless, he interestingly disclosed that when the need did arise for him to write a love song for his beloved on the grounds of their marriage the public would equally hear of it.
He highlighted that there was the need to be called to embark on this journey on account of the fact that it’s not enough to have a good voice or be good at singing.
